Although there is a private entrance to the West of the house (on right of photo), most guests come through the electric wooden blue grey gates, park in the top courtyard by the garages and enter along the cobbled path, past the octagonal gazebo adorned with roses.

Arriving through the farm entrance is our large newly designed boot room / utility room lobby with a delightful magnolia tree papered cloakroom with high level cistern. The Miele washing machine and dryer are set under a marble work surface with a large Belfast sink that adds to the space and room’s delight.

THE BEDROOMS

Each bedroom is decorated with dashes of floral wallpapers and luxury coverings offering a light spacious country feel.

The main bedroom has a super king bed and a sumptuous, elegant, freestanding marble-effect slipper bath set on an oak floor. Its spaciousness has velvets and fur and the floral wallpaper wall offers a grandness and splendour combined with elegant simplicity. There’s a chest of drawers, large armoire and a beautiful dressing table overlooking the weeping willow tree, fields, trees and pond below.

You enter through a lobby space, which leads in to the newly completed en-suite bathroom with 1800mm walk-in shower. It epitomises fine elegance with floor and walls of microcement, a twin basin unit, and glass and chrome fittings. The delicate curtains and chair bring a warmth and luxury and like the bedroom has stunning views across the valley.

The second bedroom is in the oldest part of the house and has a super king bed with pink headboard and large, striped, pink wing backed chair amongst its furnishings. The early morning sunshine rays stream through from the East and beautiful sunrises are to be seen from the bed. To one side is a mirrored cupboard and a long chest of drawers / dressing table with mirror above.

KITCHEN COOKING

Onwards into the new farmhouse hand-built kitchen and refurbished 4 oven Aga. The kitchen is the heart of the house and offering a place to feel at home, warm and cosy on a winter’s day and in the early mornings all year round.

We’ve installed a Butler sink and large Fisher & Paykel American style fridge freezer that add to the feel of home and space, which is a joy to be in and where you can sit down to prepare a meal or chat or simply contemplate.

KITCHEN DINING

The family kitchen table sits proudly in the middle of this ebb and flow of life as the day is mapped out or the evening completes and all that is offered is for your comfort and relaxation – definitely, the most treasured and sat-in room of the house. You can imagine back in 1915 when the then owner of the house came up with the idea of United Dairies, supplying milk products to the soldiers in the WW1. His grandson visited us and we are part of one of the books ‘Milk Chronicles’ that he wrote about his heritage.

THE DINING ROOM CONSERVATORY

Beside the kitchen is the dining room conservatory garden room. Designed for summer living it’s actually an all-year-round room and a perfect dining space with kitchen overlooking the valley and fields. The large glass sliding folding doors open completely to offer on the East side access to the Dairy and Dairy Courtyard and on the South side a terrace leading to the gardens and farm land beyond. With its large lantern light and chandelier, you can enjoy outdoor dining protected from the weather whilst watching the wildlife pass by. With a Miele gas hob, 900mm Miele electric oven and island unit with sink, fridge and dishwasher there’s everything you need to make and serve a meal.

Moving from here into our beautiful snug room with corner sofa and ottoman, large inglenook fire place with firebox and TV with Sky for sports viewing. It’s a joy to relax and sit by the fire and there’s plenty of logs and firelighters. This is where you will see the large original blue lias stone flooring. This leads to the front hall and front door, which opens on to the front lawn.

Across the hall leads into the elegant drawing room with open fire, floral sofas and Swedish antique furniture mixed with light oak tables and South facing French doors facing onto the front terrace and views across the valley.  The B&O wall hung CD player and speakers are connected to ceiling speakers in some of the other rooms - a rather beautifully designed relic set apart from the ever-evolving technology that surrounds us – a blending of old and new in tradition and simplicity.

Keep walking and a door opens into a stunning garden conservatory room, a study or afternoon tea room surrounded by sliding folding glass doors all around, which can be opened in summer and used as a covered outdoor space. Here you can retreat in all seasons and weathers but especially to enjoy the afternoon evening sun and sunsets. It’s a great place to work and it’s a great space to stop and feel part of nature.

As you approach the stairs there is a movie room leading off the back hall with 75” surround sound TV, soft teal velvet sofa with plush cushions and a leather ottoman. A restful space and a firebox fire to warm the body whilst watching your favourite movies and documentaries or play online games in a quiet space, that doesn’t disturb the home and others.

In the back hall you won’t have missed the spectacular 3 metre x 2 metre window spanning two levels and providing a new added feature of light. You feel part of the outdoor garden setting, with the stone walls, steps, roses and greenery that attracts your eyes and leads you upstairs to the landing and bedrooms.

THE GARDENS & POOL HOUSE

The gardens are on different levels reflecting the fact that the house is built into the side of the slope. To the West is a private enclosed white garden framed with white roses, with terraces, patio area and tiered banks. From here is a direct access to the outdoor swimming pool area and spa house, which is available for Farmhouse guests.

To the front is the top lawn with beds and steps leading to the lower lawn and fields beyond. There’s a croquet lawn to the right which takes you to a small wood, which we planted 30 years ago, and a path down along the edge of the fields to the stream at the bottom of the valley. The renovated farm buildings are on your left and available if you’re planning an. event, such as a family reunion, birthday celebration, wedding, naming ceremony or wedding anniversary. The croquet lawn has space for a large marquee and we have contacts with suppliers for setting up and catering for functions.
